Author Guidelines

Manuscripts must be written in English. Review Articles, full-length Original Articles, Case Reports, and articles describing new or improved relevant methods are accepted.

All manuscripts submitted to MEBM have to positively pass the peer-review process. If the Editor decides that the manuscript fits to the aims and scope of the journal, the Editor will identify and contact two independent reviewers who are acknowledged experts in the field.

For MEBM, the average editorial time from submission to first decision is 8 weeks.

EDITORIAL POLICIES

Quality and originality of the research and its significance to MEBM readers are the acceptance criteria for all manuscripts. The Editor determines whether the manuscript meets the appropriate quality and relevance requirements and only then initiates the peer review process.

Manuscript that has been published or is being considered for publication elsewhere will not be accepted. Manuscripts that appear to meet the goals of the Journal will be reviewed by two independent reviewers before a decision is made on publication by responsible editor.

Manuscript submission, processing and publishing is free of charge.

PEER REVIEW POLICY

MEBM uses a double-blind review process. All manuscripts are initially evaluated by the editor who then selects and decides which of the articles submitted to MEBM meets the criteria for publishing in MEBM. Each manuscript considered suitable is sent to two independent peer reviewers who are experts in the required field. The final decision regarding whether or not the manuscript is accepted or rejected is made by the editor.

RESEARCH ETHICS POLICY

Conduct and reporting of human research must be in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration as revised in 2013. Additionally, authors should obtain approval to conduct research from an independent local, regional or national review body (e.g., ethics committee, institutional review board).
When reporting experiments on animals, authors should indicate whether institutional and national standards for the care and use of laboratory animals were followed.

INFORMED CONSENT POLICY

CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY

Authors must have no conflicting or competing interests that would preclude them to presenting their research in an unbiased manner, and authors must disclose any and all potential conflicts of interest upon submission of their manuscript for publication. Any interest or relationship, financial or otherwise that might be perceived as influencing an author's objectivity is considered a potential source of conflict of interest. All authors must submit a list of references and financial support if so requested by the editorial board. All sources of research funding, including direct and indirect financial support, should be disclosed.

DATA SHARING POLICY

Authors are required to provide a data availability statement to confirm the presence or absence of shared data for all accepted manuscripts. CORRECTIONS & ADDITIONS POLICY

Three categories of amendments to the published articles can be made according to the MEBM publication ethics in cases when the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record is affected:
